Description: Point Walter Reserve or Dyoondalup in the Noongar language is located on the southern shore of Melville Water, WA. It is a point on Swan River with a notable sandbar that extends over 1 kilometre into the river. The sand bar was a meeting point throughout history and has a significant value for local indigenous people. With its natural and historical diversity, it attracts people to the site throughout the whole year. Many people are visiting the site to do a variety of water activities like kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. This engagement with the site inspired the idea of creating a meeting point for all water sports enthusiasts.
